ULTEM™ CRS5201 Chemical Resistance 20% Glass Reinforced, PEI Resin

Standard Flow Formulated. High Heat, Hydrolytic and Chemical Stability

ULTEM™ CRS5201 PEI Resin is a Specialized material designed for demanding Environmental Applications, featuring 20% Glass Reinforcement for Enhanced Chemical Resistance. This Resin is available in either Transparent Amber or Opaque Colors. It belongs to the ULTEM™ CRS 5000 Family series, which is known for Its superior Chemical Resistance Compared to Other ULTEM™ Series. This series also offers better Resistance to Hydraulic Aircraft Fluids than the ULTEM™ 1000 Resin.

The ULTEM™ CRS5201 PEI Resin is Heat Resistant with Standard Flow Properties. It is an Amorphous Thermoplastic Polyetherimide (PEI) Material Reinforced with Glass and Mineral

ULTEM™ Polyetherimide (PEI) Resin exhibits remarkable Strength and Stiffness, maintaining Outstanding Strength among available Alternatives with Predictable Stiffness and Strength Up to 200° Celsius.

Unfilled, Transparent Grades are as Strong as Other Thermoplastics with Opacifying Fillers. It also offers Long-Term Heat Resistance, achieving Excellent Stability of Mechanical and Physical Properties at Elevated Temperatures Due to Its High Glass Transition Temperature of 217°C, and is Available with Relative Thermal Indices (RTI) Up to 180°C.

ULTEM™ CRS5201 PEI Resin boasts High Dimensional Stability, offering Predictability Over a Wide Temperature Range, and Filled Grades provide exceptionally High Tolerance Dimensional Capabilities. It Resists Environmental Stress and Cracking, Retaining Strength and Resisting Stress Cracking when exposed to Automotive and Aircraft Fluids, Aliphatic Hydrocarbons, Alcohols, Acids, and Weak Aqueous Solutions.

In Terms of Flammability, Smoke Generation, and Toxicity, ULTEM™ CRS5201 Resin exhibits Inherent Flame Resistance without Additives in most Grades. It is Exceptionally difficult to Ignite, with a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of 47%, and Meets UL94 V0 Specifications in Sections as Thin as 0.41 Mm. it Generates Extremely Low Smoke Per NBS Smoke Evolution Tests, with Combustion Products No more Toxic than Those of Wood.

Finally, ULTEM™ CRS5201 PEI Resin offers Good Processability, Suitable for Extrusion, Thermoforming, Blow Molding, and Injection Molding. It has Good Flow Ability, allowing for Long Flow Lengths Down to 0.2 Mm Thick Using Conventional Injection Molding Equipment.

ULTEM™ CRS5201 PEI Resin has 0.30 ~ 0.50 Shrinkage, Flow, 3.2 mm. %
